Hans Böhler* 1884 , Wien - † 1961 , Wien
Böhler is trained at the Academy in Vienna and at the Jaschke private school in Vienna. In 1908 he exhibited at the Vienna Secession for the first time. In 1911 he went on a study trip to Asia, China, Korea and Japan. He stayed in the USA from 1936 and did not return to Austria until 1950. Böhler was a member of the Vienna Secession from 1934 to 1939 and from 1945 to 1961. Böhler is known for brightly colored figurative pictures and drawings, especially nude drawings. (Roessler, 1929)
