Wolfgang was born in Vienna in 1951, where he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts. In the beginning he specialized in panel painting in old master oil-tempera mixed media. From 1999 on his artwork made a turn to realistic abstractions. More recently landscape paintings are in the center of his work. One very challenging and beloved form of expression is color woodcut, which has up to 26 colors and is driven manually. More printing techniques are etching, aquatint, copper and zinc etching and linocut. His many works were already exhibited in Germany and Austria.
