Herbert Reyl-Hanisch* 1898 , Wien - † 1937 , Bregenz
Born as Herbert Reyl-Hanisch von Greifenthal, he studied from 1917 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with Hans Tichy and then at the Wiener Kunstgewerbeschule with Wilhelm Müller-Hofmann (1885–1948). With the end of the monarchy, his name changed. Since graduating in 1920, Reyl-Hanisch has worked as a freelance artist and made a living from landscape and portrait painting. In 1923 he participated in an exhibition of the Vienna Secession for the first time. He was included in the artist association "Old World" [1]. He is a representative of the "Neuromantik" and "Neue Sachlichkeit" (New Objectivity)
