about the artist
Heiner Frauendorfer* 1930 , Rom
Representative of conceptual photo-realism. Metropolitan furniture segments - skyscrapers, historic monuments, billboards, backyards, facades, roofscapes, fire stairs, sculptures in public spaces, cornice architectures - but also structures of architecture and nature in the rural environment are the topics to which the artist takes on. Frauendorfer explores the possibilities that arise from an unconventional point of view. His striking choice of motifs and a conscious use of light and shadow characterize his paintings. They convey to the viewer a fascinating world in which the boundaries of appearance and reality, of reality and fantasy appear suspended.
